Posts from adults with Asperger Syndrome
I thought about the idea of other adults posting their experiences to this blog and I am trialing this as a new and unconventional means of promoting awareness. Should you wish to post in reply to this thread of your own experiences, please don't hesitate to do do.
You may want to write about the following
Your personal experiences of having AS (any length acceptable).
The difficulties you encounter or the skills you have already acquired or possess.
Where you feel more awareness may be needed
What it is like being an adult with Asperger Syndrome
Anything you may wish to write about that may help raise awareness.
Regards
Garry Burge

I am an adult recently diagnosed. I am finding it difficult to obtain employment and understanding. I am often depressed and feel alone and misunderstood. What help is available?
ReplyDeleteA life with Asperger's can be a lonely journey. I have found the developing relationships with similarly minded people helps my feeling of isolation. It's wonderful to be amongst people with whom you feel at home and understood, and you often find that through other people with Asperger's. The 'Minds and Hearts' clinic in Brisbane specialises in helping people with Asperger's http://www.mindsandhearts.net/who.html. I've also heard that the UQ Asperger's group is pretty good.
