One of the things that really gets under my skin is annoying bureaucracy and hierarchy. Things that could be done quickly, promptly and efficiently are instead disrupted by endless paper work and deferral to other departments or areas to be improved. For instance why do you need so many people to execute one function and why do some people have to make life difficult for you when you are trying to do the right thing and achieve an end result? Bureaucracy had its foundations from Ancient Rome when the Roman Emperor Claudius needed to rely on others to help with decision making. Since Ancient Rome, bureaucracy has become a common and yet sometimes an annoying feature in our society. Simple decisions and responsibilities take forever to be made and also stupid games are played and politics instead of outcome and result. One of the things that really irritates me is office politics and people who genuinely make life difficult for others.
Hierarchy is no exception either for you have to ask so many people just to get a simple and straight forward answer. Why can't one person simply answer it instead a whole tribe of Indians without a Chief? Also pecking orders seem to have a negative ramification in that certain people can sometimes sit on the buts and not do anything and cause inefficiency to occur. It is important to have people work together but pecking orders can be really annoying for sometimes you can end up with crap decisions or poor direction as a result. Also some people in supervisory or important positions can act in their own interests instead of what their position requires of them and things can be even more difficult. This can be seen in some phone companies, and other businesses. Furthermore you can beat your head against a brick wall with wanting outcomes and finding that nothing happens and you get nowhere. Sometimes you can not intentionally lead a crusade just to get something simple done. Often bureaucracy and hierarchy seem a means of controlling people but sadly they also can be a means of just allowing inefficiency to flourish with no real clear resolution or outcome in sight.
