My Aspie Routines

If anyone has ever watched the movie Being There starring Peter Sellars who apparently had Asperger Syndrome you may be interested in the routines an Aspie encounters.  Please watch the following video Being There  In the movie Peter Sellars moves from house to house and nobody really understands his unconventional existence.

As an Aspie life is mainly spent in a routine.  It is like a kind of ritual in that the same patterns of behaviour are always followed.  Waking up in the morning, getting breakfast and following similar routines which may be regular each day.

I would encourage any Aspie to watch the movie Being There as the movie does clearly depict just how an Aspie lives in routines and more importantly takes things literally etc.   In fact Peter Sellars wanted so much to play the role which may describe his Aspieness.

In the beginning of the movie Peter Sellars is evicted from the house he is living in.  He knows only a world of television and gardening and he takes a remote control with him as he walks out the front door.  He encounters people on the street and comes into contact with unsavory people using his remote control to try and change the channel.  The movie is well and worthily recommended and I hope others can get a chance to see it.
